It really isn’t necessary to purchase pre-packaged cleaning products as you can easily make your own which are just as effective. You most likely have all the ingredients you need in your cupboard to concoct your own cleaning products.

Here’s a cheat sheet for making your own cleaning products.

All-purpose cleaner
Fill a reusable spray bottle with 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water.

Cookware cleaner
Use sea salt or coarse salt mixed with a little lemon juice and scrub.
For more stubborn stains, try baking soda and water made into a paste (this also works well on stained tea cups, mugs, and cutting boards).

Soap scum remover
Fill a reusable spray bottle with white vinegar. Spray area that requires cleaning and leave for a few minutes before scrubbing lightly.

Window cleaner
Fill a reusable spray bottle with 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water.

Fabric softener
Mix 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water together. Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup to the final rinse cycle.

Cleaning cloths
Recycle old towels, flannels and sheets.
